Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground turkey or lean ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped finely
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 packet (1 ounce) taco seasoning
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 head butter lettuce or romaine lettuce, leaves separated
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1/4 cup salsa
  • 1/4 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground turkey or beef and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned. Drain any excess fat.
  2. Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook for 3-5 minutes, until the onion softens.
  3. Stir in the taco seasoning and water. Bring to a simmer and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the liquid has mostly evaporated and the mixture has thickened.
  4. Remove from heat.
  5. To assemble the wraps, spoon the taco meat mixture into individual lettuce leaves.
  6. Top with shredded cheese, fresh cilantro, salsa, and sour cream or Greek yogurt.
  7. Serve immediately.
