Description
Make this spicy tuna melt for a quick lunch. You mix flaked tuna with crunchy celery and spicy peppers. Melted cheese binds the filling between slices of toasted bread. This recipe adds a kick to a classic sandwich.

- 2 cans (5 oz each) tuna in water drained
- 3 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 stalk celery finely diced
- 1 jalapeño seeded and minced
- 1 tbsp red onion minced
- 1 tsp hot sauce
- 4 slices sourdough bread
- 4 slices cheddar cheese
- 2 tbsp butter softened
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Mix tuna mayonnaise celery jalapeño onion and hot sauce in a bowl.
- Season the mixture with salt and pepper.
- Spread butter on one side of each bread slice.
- Place two bread slices butter-side down in a skillet over medium heat.
- Top the bread in the pan with cheese slices and the tuna mixture.
- Place the remaining bread slices on top with the butter side facing up.
- Cook for 3 to 4 minutes until the bottom is golden brown.
- Flip the sandwiches carefully.
- Cook for another 3 minutes until the cheese melts and the bread crisps.
- Serve hot immediately.

- Drain the tuna thoroughly to keep bread crisp.
- Use pepper jack cheese for extra heat.
- Add sliced tomato inside if you like fresh texture.
