Ingredients

- 1 pound pasta
- 4 cups chicken or vegetable broth
- 1 (15 ounce) can diced tomatoes, undrained
- 1 pound Italian sausage, casing removed (optional)
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- In a large pot or Dutch oven, combine pasta, broth, diced tomatoes, sausage (if using), onion, garlic, oregano, and basil.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
- Reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until pasta is cooked through and most of the liquid has been absorbed. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
- Stir in Parmesan cheese until melted.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- You can substitute any type of pasta you prefer.
- Add your favorite vegetables like spinach, bell peppers, or zucchini.
- For a vegetarian option, omit the sausage and use vegetable broth.
