Description

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 cups vegetable oil, for frying
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 2 tbsp hot sauce (such as Frank’s RedHot)
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp butter

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika, and cayenne pepper.
  2. In another bowl, soak chicken in buttermilk.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet to 350°F (175°C).
  4. Dredge chicken in flour mixture, ensuring it’s fully coated.
  5. Fry chicken in hot oil for 5-7 minutes, until golden brown and cooked through.
  6. Remove chicken and place on a wire rack to drain excess oil.
  7. In a saucepan, combine honey, hot sauce, apple cider vinegar, and butter.
  8. Heat over medium heat, stirring until butter is melted and mixture is smooth.
  9. Toss fried chicken in hot honey sauce until evenly coated.
  10. Serve immediately.

  • Adjust the amount of hot sauce to control the spice level.
  • For extra crispy chicken, double dredge in the flour mixture.
