Description

Ingredients

  • 1 baguette, sliced into 1/2-inch rounds
  • 1 cup garlic cloves, peeled
  • 1 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Place garlic cloves in a small saucepan. Cover with olive oil.
  3. Cook over low heat for 30-40 minutes, or until garlic is soft and lightly golden. Do not brown.
  4. Remove garlic from oil. Mash with a fork. Stir in salt and pepper.
  5. Arrange baguette slices on a baking sheet.
  6. Toast in the oven for 5-7 minutes, or until lightly golden.
  7. Rub each warm toast slice with a mashed garlic clove.
  8. Spread a generous amount of the garlic confit mixture onto each toast.
  9. Garnish with fresh parsley.
